Course Format
Face-to-Face Workshop
Basically, we deliver the course face-to-face over 14 hours. Because it is a long course, we are flexible in the way it is delivered. So you can do it quickly over 2 days or spread it out over 3 days or even 1 or 2 weeks.
After that, every participant will receive a copy of the Youth MHFA Manual and a Certificate of Completion.
Prior Learning
Youth MHFA is open to anyone aged over 18, but anyone form 15v to 18 can do our Teen Mental Health First Aid.
Covid-19 Precautions
Because your health and safety are our highest priority, infection control measures and COVID-19 practices are applied across all of our training facilities. Please remember if you are unwell or experiencing any symptoms we ask that you contact us to reschedule your training. If you need further information, then please email courses@firstaidpro.com.au.
Certification & Accreditation
We issue a Certificate of Completion on the final day of the course. What’s more, the YMHFA course is accredited directly through Mental Health First Aid Australia who will send you a link to take a short accreditation assessment.
The accreditation assessment, although not timed, usually takes between 15-30 minutes to complete and consists of 15 multiple-choice questions. Unlike some courses, the assessment is open book so you can refer to your YMHFA manual if needed.
Finally, accreditation lasts for 3 years and allows you to be appointed as a Mental Health First Aid Officer.
